A Ghost Called Covid
Carried by the wind, the invisible virus behaves like a dancer, a ghost. The
ghost, as metaphor, is taking control over public space and society. In the empty
streets of Amsterdam during the lockdown, as we never saw the city before.
The dancer is a reference to the deadly power of the virus. The model is the
mexican dancer who is painted in the original style of the “Day of the Dead”.
A Mexican holiday where the dead are honored. Those who lose the battle must be
honored. This emphasizes the international crisis,
showing how all people are connected.
