3. “Buddies”
In order to continue to nurse and treat the large amount of critically ill patients, our working method was adapted in a short time. As ICU nurses, we are now responsible for four patients and four buddies. They help us with daily care, monitor the most important physical functions of patients (including breathing, heart rate, blood pressure), and keep the patient’s file updated.
