The Red Light District in Amsterdam, notorious and much talked about for its hustle and bustle, has been changed by corona is a ‘silent red light’.
A photo series about the Red Light District without prostitutes
without pimps
without day visitors
without families with prams and children at the hand without a permanent stream of drunken partygoers
without cowards at the whores
What’s left?
the silence and the chairs,
the curtains,
the sinks,
the sprays…
the windows that reflect so you get a glimpse of what the prostitutes would see if they were sitting behind the window right now, a silent ‘red light’.
