Q (2020) / Closed thoughts
On March 19th I made a quick sketch on a whim of the situation that had suddenly arisen around the Corona virus.
A drawing in which I wanted to capture things like isolation, fear, uncertainty, boredom, searching for contact and hope.
I lived in Amsterdam for ten years, in the Rivierenbuurt, and although I now live in the south of the country again, I still feel connected to that city and certainly to that neighbourhood.
The idea for the drawing is also based on the (porch) houses with shared front door/rise in which I lived for years.
