We are Cynthia Foekema and Esther Fransman and work under the name Studio Bla Bla. Since 2019 we have been creative founders of our side project. We make illustrations with content and a wink and with that we want to break (sexual) taboos, give a voice to our fellow man and in this way give a helping hand. With humour we like to focus on subjects that are sometimes difficult to discuss. Often from a female perspective or with reversed role patterns to show that we are still dealing with double standards. Also in this day and age we translate substantive issues into illustrations. We often go for that smile, but we certainly do not shy away from that tear. Now that all life’s ‘certainties’ are suddenly disappearing, there is not always much left to hold on to. We have therefore seized the opportunity of the corona crisis to translate this into our thoughts. What does it mean now that you are single or single? And what does this time do with your relationship, psyche or sex drive? We try to put ourselves in different perspectives and draw the things you sometimes think, but don’t dare to say out loud.
With all these fantasies we’re active on Instagram every day.
