Less than 2 weeks after moving to Amsterdam the pandemic started spreading quickly through Europe and lockdown ensued. With all the uncertainty I put off finding a studio right away and thought of ways that I can create handbags from home. As I was walking down Ten Kate market I stumbled upon Zig Zag, a craft shop, and saw an array of colours of ribbons. Having crocheted handbags before I decided to give it a try as it was the perfect medium to work with from home. After having completed the first handbag I decided to play around with the leftover ribbon and try to make masks. I taught myself new crocheting techniques and played around with several patterns to make each mask unique.
