Meet the young Amsterdam citizens of the year who are committed to the city, and discover what these people do for their community, neighbours and city!
The title ‘Young Amsterdam Citizen of the Year’ is awarded by the Stichting Amsterdammer van het jaar (Foundation of the Amsterdam Citizen of the Year) to children who make the city more beautiful, liveable and social. There are of course many children who do wonderful things for the city. A jury therefore selects a new young Amsterdam citizen of the year in an annual election.
In this gallery, meet the young Amsterdam citizens of the year 2020: Imane Valk (future prime minister) and Tur-G (artist). 2020 was the year that corona invaded the city and changed everybody’s life.
