Thousands of young people party in Vondelpark

Thousands of young people met late afternoon on Wednesday in Vondelpark. This was a spontaneous event rather than an organised one. Most thought it was a bit too busy but they also thought that it showed the need for a further easing of the corona measures.
‘Sorry, but I think we deserve it’, said one of the revellers. ‘I know it’s not permitted but we are doing it anyway. I think they owe us that much. This is getting ridiculous. They cannot expect us to stay at home all the time. It’s depressing.’
She understand the criticism. ‘My mother works in care and it’s hard for her. It continues to be busy which is difficult for them because they’ve got a life of their own as well.’
