Bijlmer remains calm
The introduction of a night-time curfew sparked riots throughout the Netherlands, including Amsterdam. When messages were spotted on social media encouraging people in the Bijlmer suburb to join in the rioting, local residents took to the streets to ask young people to go home. The effort proved to be successful, and the Bijlmer remained calm.
