A series of oil paintings made in isolation whilst the city streets of Amsterdam were quiet, for a change. There was a compelling silence around, among a city which is usually booming with life, people and tourism. Without all that life, there lies only the beauty of the city itself to focus on. I found something extremely moving about the fact the streets were empty but all the buildings full. The feeling of everyone being in this together, almost in hibernation, whilst the world goes through its changes.
