PRICELESS

This photo series depicts how I have seen this pandemic situation in Amsterdam. The lockdown revealed human’s vulnerability and how people are important and valuable compared to the economy. The main role of a nation stood out during this first lockdown, which is to protect people. The pandemic has lasted for more than a year now, but we can see inhabitants of our city trying to have good times despite the virus. Hope and joy still liven up our environment.

“How much is a human life worth? That is the real discussion that no one is admitting, openly or freely—that we should.” (…) “To me, I say the cost of a human life, a human life is priceless. Period.” New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a briefing on May 5th, 2020.
